Jessica Dessner

Jessica Dessner is a visual artist, poet, and dancer/choreographer.  After 25 years in New York City, Jessica relocated to the Piedmont region of Italy with her family in 2016.  Her work has been seen at the 92Y Tribeca Gallery, bird and Shrine in New York, Country Club in Cincinnati, OH, and the CIT Wandesford Gallery in Cork, Ireland. Her album artwork for the Grateful Dead was nominated for a Grammy in 2015.  Performances and choreography of her own work have included Sufjan Stevens' Age of Adz tour in 2010, Space for the Liberty Muse at the Sounds From A Safe Festival in Cork, Ireland, 2017, and Sant’Ageda at the PEOPLE Festival in Berlin, 2018 .  Her poems have appeared in EOAGH , Sal Mimeo , La Petite Zine , The Invisible Stitch, H_NGM_N, Gerry Mulligan, Maggy, Nowhere, and Free Verse.  Wit’s End with Bric-a-Brac, a chapbook, was published in 2006 by Green Zone, and Complete Mountain Almanac was published by Ergo Press in 2020.  She holds a BA in dance from Barnard College/Columbia University and a MFA in Creative Writing from the New School.
